LINDEN LOUNGE UPDATE
At our last BPN meeting, held Tuesday, February 17, 2009, questions arose regarding the status of the Linden Lounge, currently padlocked by the City of Baltimore. It was noted that the owner has been present at recent Reservoir Hill Community Meetings.
Conversations with select Reservoir Hill residents and Bill Cole have yielded the following information:
- The owner actively is trying to find community support to re-open the establishment, in violation of the padlock order for him not to seek mediation with the neighborhood.
- Police reports show nearly a 66% reduction in calls for service at his location since the establishment was padlocked.
- His liquor license “revocation/non approval for renewal” continues in his appeal process (no change in status since last spring).
Bill Cole is tracking the owner’s activities very closely, and will contact Reservoir Hill residents, as well as other interested community members i.e. Bolton Hill, if he believes we need to take action to hold him off. Otherwise, Mr. Cole suggests we stay diligent and strongly suggests we not engage with the owner.
